Job Purpose
- To oversee and manage the Finance, Accounting and Control functions within the region, formulate and implement consistent accounting policies/strategies/procedures to ensure the integrity of the financial reports and compliance with accounting standards at entity and consolidated level.
Job Function & Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning
- Developing strategic initiatives to deliver financial integrity and control to ensure quality and
- timeliness of all financial reporting to regulators, tax authorities and Head Office
- Providing analysis of financial results, accounting related advice and support to business units
- through the diagnosis of financial issues and proposed resolution.
- Drive finance related projects, process change and improvements. Plan, develop and oversee
- execution of system enhancements and workflow changes to deliver higher efficiency and/or
- meeting business needs.
- Standardises financial processes across the region and ensures uniformity in group reporting
Business Performance and Management
- Responsible for the management and control of the businesses financial operations, including
- financial reporting and analysis, transactional processing and control, and risk/compliance
- monitoring.
Capital Planning & Treasury Management
- Work with Business and Group on capital management on regional level
- Manage banking relationship, negotiate banking facilities and administration of loan agreements
- Manage foreign exchange risk exposure
People Management
- Leading and developing talents for succession planning and staff career advancement.
- Train, nurture and equip staff with knowledge and skills to achieve higher level of competency
- Motivate and retain high performers and manage attrition rate
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Reporting
- Establish adequate controls and monitoring procedures to ensure compliance to local regulators, statutory laws, accounting standards, tax authorities and group policies.
- Identify and understand key risk elements.
Other Supporting Functions
- Responsible for the corporate secretarial matters for Singapore incorporated companies.
- Ensure timely filing and reporting of tax returns
- Evaluate related party transactions to ensure compliance of Transfer Pricing Requirements
- Work on regional project assessment, due diligence or execution
Job Requirements:
- Academic Qualifications: At least Bachelor of Accountancy or its equivalent
- Professional Qualification: Chartered Accountant
- Relevant Work Experience: At least 15 years of finance and accounting related experience in financial industry
Competencies / Skills:
- Technical/Functional skills: Good grasp of IFRS and global tax knowledge an advantage.
- Personal skills (Soft Competencies [Core/Leadership]
- Good speaking and written English and Chinese language to liaise with our China counterparts
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills i.e. process oriented with ability to analyse and recommend improvement.
- Time management skills to set priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective leader with the ability to motivate and build good rapport and collaborative working relationships with all levels of staff.
