Job Description and Qualifications

You will report to the Principal / CEO and your duties will include:

1. JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Provide strong leadership, direction, and management to the team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Assess and manage financial and operational risks, implementing internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses, providing insights into the school's financial health and supporting informed decision-making.
  • Take responsibility for finance management, cash flow planning, and payment allocation to maintain the school's financial stability.
  • Lead the preparation of the school's budget by collaborating with department heads. Monitor and control actual variances to the budget.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial laws, preparing tax filings and effectively liaising with auditors and regulatory authorities.
  • Monitor cash flow, optimise working capital, and execute strategies to enhance cash flow generation, improving liquidity and financial stability.
  • Offer strategic recommendations to the management team based on a deep understanding of financial data and insights.
  • Work closely with the management to draft and/or review standard operating procedures that enhance efficiency and effectiveness in line with the school's objectives.
  • Oversee credit and collection initiatives to ensure that credit policies are enforced throughout the school, and timely collections are made.
  • Facilitate inter-departmental communication and provide constructive ideas, recommendations, and solutions to managers whose roles impact operations.
  • Undertake other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the management team.

2. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree holder in Accountancy or equivalent from a reputable university
  • Preferably with CA qualification
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Resourceful, meticulous, hands-on and resilient
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently as well as collaborate with others.
