Gafta is an international trade association with over 1900 members in 100 countries. Our aim is to promote international trade in agricultural commodities, spices and general produce, and to protect our members’ interests worldwide. Gafta provides support to its members and the wider industry by providing standard form contracts, arbitration services, trade policy & free trade advocacy, approved registry for superintendents, fumigators and analysts, training opportunities and networking.


This role will report to the Director of Gafta Singapore and will support the work of Gafta in the SEA Pacific region. This part time role will primarily focus on marketing and administration, with the opportunity to develop a strong industry network.


Responsibilities:

  1. Provide administrative support to the Director of Gafta’s Singapore office to ensure smooth operations in the region.
  2. Maintain and update the regional contacts registry for South East Asia & Pacific.
  3. Collaborate with the Marketing and Events teams to offer regional support as needed.
  4. Assist in event coordination by liaising with venues, airlines, and hotels.
  5. Establish a schedule of regular meetings with key government stakeholders to maintain relationships and stay updated on industry developments.
  6. Identify and pursue opportunities within Singapore to enhance relationships with industry stakeholders, including occasional attendance at industry events.
  7. Collaborate with the Director of Gafta Singapore to promote and attract new members to the association.

Requirements:

  1. Undergraduate degree in business/marketing/similar with minimum 5 years experience
  2. Previous experience in marketing, administration, or a related field preferred.
  3. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  5. Knowledge of the agricultural or food trade industry is a plus.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours.
