Position Summary :
System designs of Communications subsystems requires competent system designers who have track records of completed design works of at least one project with scale and complexity similar to that of the typical metro railway project. In addition, the CBN designer is required to have track records in the design, testing and commissioning of Multi-Protocol Label Switching – Transport Profile (MPLS-TP) networks.
The Network Engineer with designated domain knowledge is expected to produce detailed design and implement network systems for the assigned projects. He will be involved with complex and difficult designs following established system engineering process. While not mandatory, it will be to the candidate’s advantage if he/she possesses an understanding of cybersecurity principles and concepts such as network segmentation, network access controls and 802.1X.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities :
Design, specify & costing of detailed Network solution, including
· Interpreting customer requirement and producing fully detailed & compliant design.
· Interfacing with customer’s engineer for design definition.
· Interfacing with other system-wide designers for service definition.
· Interfacing with suppliers and vendors for product definition.
· Evaluate and recommend the most suitable products and system, ensuring costs are within allocated budget
During site implementation, testing & commissioning the Network
· Leading the commissioning activities on site, as well as producing the commissioning documentation
· Providing support to the installation and maintenance works.
Keep track of progress of all design & interface tasks
· Carrying out all assigned work efficiently, with a minimum of supervision,
· Expediting response and deliverables (documents & including engineering drawings, specifications, design reports and calculations, equipment details and other project information).
Requirements :
· Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Telecommunications Engineering / Computer Science
· Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP), Cisco Data Center Certificate or equivalent level in networking is an advantage
· More than 5 Years of direct experience as a Network engineer working on LAN, WAN, Wireless, SD-WAN technologies, with at least 2 years in network design work
