School of Social Sciences is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Fellow.
The successful candidate will be involved in a project involving research on social identity. The candidate will help plan, coordinate, and conduct research work together with the Project EMBER (Elucidating the mechanisms behind social identity formation and cooperation in society) team at NTU which will consist of several faculty members and students. The Research Fellow will be supervised by and will interact and receive guidance from a few faculty members of the School.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting research on topics related to social identity.
- Programming experiments with z-tree, Python, and o-Tree.
- Assisting with the organization and implementation of lab and field economics and behavioral experiments.
- Preparing the logistics for lab and field economics and behavioral experiments.
- Compiling, processing, and analyzing data obtained from the experiments using statistics and econometrics software STATA and (or) R.
- Preparing sections of analysis, writing manuscript drafts, and grant proposals.
- Working with IT personnel and other team members to upgrade experimental lab capabilities.
- Liaising with individuals outside the team to handle any administrative work regarding the project.
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Economics specializing in Experimental and Behavioral Economics and familiar with the Social Identity literature.
- Good research, communication, and management skills, as well as the ability to work independently are a must.
- Good track record in research and a healthy line of papers and work-in-progress.
- Experience in conducting laboratory experiments. Knowledge of field experiments would also be preferred.
- Proficiency in programming for experiments using z-tree and (or) o-Tree/Python would be desirable.
- Some knowledge of web development languages (HTML, CSS, Javascript) would be desirable.
- Excellent data analytics and econometric skills.
- Proficient in STATA and (or) R.
