COMPANY DESCRIPTION
Grocery Logistics Singapore (GLS) a wholly owned subsidiary of FairPrice Group Supply Chain, is a well-established logistics player in the Fast Moving Consumers Goods (FMCG) segment, incorporated since January 1993. Other than being the key logistics provider for NTUC FairPrice and its subsidiaries, we had serviced the Dairy Farm Group, Royal Ahold Group (since exited from Singapore Markets) and many small supermarket chains since our establishment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Security, Fire Safety & Housekeeping
- Carry out good security control, clean and safe of the facility
- Follow and comply to housekeeping, waste disposal and recyclable rules.
- Ensuring that basic facilities, such as barrier, TMS, security equipment (CCTV & DVR) etc are well-maintained
- Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of all security and fire protection facilities and equipment at all times
- Manage, co-ordinate and support the smooth operations of necessary upgrading projects.
- Supervise and conduct training for vendor and staff in the area of security, housekeeping and fire safety.
- Ensure that the building adhere to all safety regulations as required.
- Report if any violation of entry and non-compliance of security and Fire Safety.
- Oversee asset protection for businesses from the protection of people and staff to the prevention of theft and inventory loss for all GLS Distribution Centres (DC) and storage warehouses.
- Manage and work closely with the FM Department on matters in relation to Security, Safety, Fire Safety and Housekeeping.
- Provide a safe, secured and clean environment conducive for the receiving, distribution and storage of goods and property and for work.
- To be on duty at all times to meet with fire and security matters and to extend support and assistance to duty personnel when required.
- Engage and effectively manage staff, cleaning and security agency staff to meet company objectives with fairness for warehouses and DCs.
- Ensure the serviceability of all security and fire protection facilities and equipment at all times.
- Being the FSM and perform duties befitting of a Fire Safety Manager and in accordance with SCDF requirements
- Heavy Vehicle Parking Management: issuance of VPC licenses for trucks, monitor parking activities for both DCs to maintain VPC status and to deal matters on illegal or ad hoc parking. Compliance to LTA regulatory requirement on VPC is to be observed.
- Housekeeping: Prepare work plan that is suited for the cleanliness of the DCs that meets with changing business needs of company.
- Deploy and manage cleaners with machineries to meet housekeeping standards, review and conduct inspections and checking's to ensure cleaning scope is maintained.
- Disposal: work with FM team to liaise the disposal company to meet with hygiene and cleaning standards and ad hoc request to be managed.
- ECC Roles
- ECC shall look out for conditions/situations in the specified premises, which
- cause or are likely to cause environmental sanitation problems.
- He/She should report these conditions/situations to the Premise Manager (Operations Lead) together with recommendations on remedial measures to rectify the conditions/situations and prevent recurrence. The
- Proper and adequate cleaning, cleaning & disinfection of surfaces in contact and refuse management;
- Meet pest control contractor to address vectors and resolve their potential breeding or harbourage areas
- Develop and submit an Environmental Sanitation (ES) programme PM to approve & endorsement. Amend, review and update the ES programme
- Identity, notify and recommend remedial actions to the PM to address any default in the implementation of the ES programme;
- Retain the records of the cleaning, disinfection and pest management works till the end of the next calendar year (e.g. records from 1 Jan 2021 to 31 Dec
- Attend to NEA or any authorised officers during compliance inspections.
2. Safety
- Address and provide counsel on specific instances of WSH non-compliance and unsafe work practices.
- Alert team members of emergency situations and potential escalation of incidents and accidents.
- Carry out initiatives to support WSH programs.
- Collect data on WSH performance, conditions and practices.
- Conduct routine checks on work activities of other departments and contribute suggestions to mitigate reoccurrences of incidents and accidents.
- Identify WSH non-compliance, unsafe work conditions and practices. Explain WSH compliance requirements and proper work practices pertaining to employees' specific work process or area.
- Follow Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policy and procedures.
- Follow investigation protocols to collect data and report findings.
- Participate and lead all site WSH compliance inspections. Report instances of WSH non-compliance, unsafe work conditions and practices to team members.
- Support WSH incident and accident investigations.
- Support implementation of actions to improve WSH performance and control risks.
- A recognised diploma course related to environmental and occupational health and safety
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in WSH for manurfacturing/logistics industry
- Preferably with FSM certification
- Possess a minimum Diploma in Environment, Health and Safety Management or related field
- Excellent people management skills and good interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in Workplace Safety & Health Management
- Work location: 7 Sunview Road
- Working hours: Monday - Friday, 8:15am - 5:35pm
- The position will be required to travel locally to our other distribution centres.
