- Performing and Managing In-house and Onsite calibrations
Specific responsibilities:
- Expand laboratory work scope for Dimensional and Mechanical fields.
Be an approved Local Accreditation Body signatory for Dimensional and Mechanical fields of calibration in the laboratory. - Arranging recalibration of standard equipment’s before due date through ISO/IEC 17025 accredited labs having better CMC, reviewing the certificate of master instruments and periodically updating the Master equipment’s list.
- Regularly updating the drift records of master instruments
- Reviewing and approving the calibration certificates
- Improving the delivery performance by getting the work done from the team as per plan and delivering instruments within committed TAT.
Identify training needs and provides training for staff. - Increase calibration productivity and efficiency by adopting improved systems and methods.
- Arranging & performing preventive maintenance, in service checks, inter laboratory Comparison (ILC) and Proficiency Testing (PT) as per planner.
- Ensure laboratory procedure are up to-date with regular review. Develops and improves calibration procedure and prepare CMC calculations.
- Assists in maintaining laboratory Quality Management Systems as per ISO 17025, To be well prepared for the internal and external audits.
- Manages laboratory technical functions in accordance with Local Accreditation Body standards.
- Provide technical support during equipment failure also providing technical guidance to the team.
- Participate in identifying new business opportunities and development.
- Assists in annual Capex budget exercise and assist with Capex justification for new or replaced equipment
- Listen and provides technical advice to client and assists in client audits
- Anticipate the clients’ needs to offer the most suitable solution.
- Operate to the highest standards of ethics, in accordance with the SGS Statement of Integrity
- Liaise with clients on technical issues when required also confirming the calibration capability to CS team for enquiries.
- Maintain draft Calibration Certificate format/template
- Maintain good housekeeping at workstation/areas by implementing and maintaining 5S activities.
- Ask for more business while interacting with customers
- Always act in a friendly and reliable manner, Act upon client feedback.
- Manage timely trouble shooting and assist customer as necessary.
- Build and foster collaboration with internal teams involved in service delivery.
- At All times, adopt a safe behavior by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS employees and clients, in line with SGS policies and procedures
- Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by Senior Management
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical engineering or related field.
- 7 -10 years’ experience in equipment measurement/calibration field.
- Technical knowledge and experience in related field and in using management methods and tools.
- Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously
- Able to interact with all levels of management, suppliers, and clients.
- Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Works well under pressure, challenges status quo.
- Applies judgment and acts according to the SGS standards of ethics and integrity
- Knowledge of ISO systems and procedures
- Able to coordinate and motivate a team towards a common goal.
