General Manager (Personnel Logistics)

We are looking for a passionate General Manager (Personnel Logistics) who will be working with Wilhelmsen Ship Management, a comprehensive global maritime group providing over half of the merchant fleet with essential products and services, along with supplying crew and technical management to the largest and most complex vessels ever to sail.

With a pool of more than 9,200 seafarers and over 500 shore-based employees all over the world, Wilhelmsen Ship Management is one of world’s largest third-party ship managers with a portfolio of more than 450 vessels and counting.

The position is to oversee, facilitate, manage the operation and budgets for personnel logistics and located at Great World City - West Tower in the heart of Singapore and it is easy to get to by public transportation.

Main Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with ship managers and clients to understand their unique needs and preferences.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their queries, concerns, and providing solutions in a timely manner.
  • Regularly update clients on related information and industry trends.

Team Management:

  • Assemble and oversee a team of coordinators, ensuring their training and development to provide excellent service.
  • Allocate tasks, set goals, and monitor performance to achieve department objectives.

Cost Management:

  • Monitor and control expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness while maintaining high service quality.
  • Negotiate contracts to secure favorable rates and terms.
  • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising safety and comfort for client.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and maintain quality standards, striving for the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve related issues and complaints promptly and professionally.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare regular reports on related activities, expenses, and key performance indicators.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost-saving initiatives.

Planning and Coordination:

  • Oversee the planning and coordinating arrangements for crew members, executives, and other personnel involved in ship management.
  • Ensure efficient visa processing and documentation for crew members, executives, and other personnel involved in ship management.
  • Manage last-minute changes or emergencies plans effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Negotiation and vendor management abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of international regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Crisis management and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to adapt to frequent shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in GDS, management software and tools.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
