Trading Analyst

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • Support commercial activity for LNG short term/spot marketing and optimization
  • Communication with HQ in Japan
  • Monitor operation/implementation of LNG short term/spot cargoes and ships
  • Economics and risk analysis for short term/spot cargoes and mid-term opportunities
  • Participation in internal and/or external meeting


PRINCIPAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support commercial activity / negotiation for LNG short term/spot marketing and optimization

  1. Manage, negotiate, review and finalize (including execution arrangement) commercial contracts
  2. Attend the internal discussion for trading strategy and with HQ etc.
  3. Ad hoc support in relation to DGI’s LNG marketing, trading and optimization.
  4. Communication and negotiation with Japanese customers/counter parties in Japanese

Operation/implementation of LNG short term/spot cargoes and ships

  1. Manage and coordinate with external/ internal parties
  2. Monitor the transaction progress and communicate with HQ
  3. General information exchange with external parties

Economics and risk analysis for short term/spot cargoes

Maintain, upgrade the shipping/freight model and evaluate economics/transaction value & Risk analysis


Participation in internal and/or external meeting / conferences

Co-work with LNG GM in communication/cooperation with HQ in Japan (in Japanese) as well as global offices around the world (in English)


QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENT:

  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Mathematics/Actuarial science/Finance or any related discipline.
  • Proficient and fluent both in English and Japanese (written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholder will be required in both languages)
  • Those with Regulatory and/or Professional certification is an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge in Quantitative modelling and/or derivatives trading risk support, options pricing theory (i.e. quantitative models for pricing and hedging derivatives) and excellence in statistical model, excellent in excel, proficiency in programming such VBA, and Python.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving abilities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently & as a team.
