Job Description & Requirements

The Quantity Surveyor is an executive role and he/she:

- Manages and prepares all the cost estimates for construction-related projects. This spans from initial calculations to the final accounts to help in bidding and determining the price of the goods and services.

- Seeks to minimise costs while adhering to the required standards and policies.

- Keeps track of the progression of the contract with regard to any variation.

- Enhances the overall value of the project while keeping to the standards and policies.

- Works in office and attends to site visits regularly.

Tasks and Responsibilities

- Allocate work to contractors and subcontractors to facilitate the smooth workflow process.

- Assess the degree of hazards and risks to ensure workplace safety is maintained.

- Communicate with the management, contractors and subcontractors on the adjustments to cost estimates.

- Conduct the negotiations during the course of the project in order to ensure issues are resolved.

- Control project scope to meet project objectives in order to enhance project deliverables and key work activities.

- Develop cost reduction strategies to enhance the overall value of the project.

- Monitor project costs to ensure the objectives of the project are achieved in accordance to building contract law.

- Oversee and ensure compliance with standards.

- Prepare tender and contract documents in accordance to the building and construction regulations.

- Handle tendering process such as sourcing quotation, measurement, quantities taking off, etc

- Prepare the cost analysis for the project in order to ensure the overall value is enhanced.

- Prepares progress claims, retention claims, AO/VO, etc.

Requirements

· Preferably individual with a Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying

· Must be meticulous, detailed & conscientious with a positive working attitude

· Proficient in AutoCAD & MS Office (such as PowerPoint Presentation, Excel)

· Minimum 2 years of local experience in construction industries

· Possess strong project organizational skills, independent, confident and mature individual, yet a strong team player

· Able to handle stress & multi-tasking

· Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
