Job Purpose
Researching and developing new menu items, products and processes, and operational procedures. With the focus to optimize ease of execution including cost control.
Job Responsibilities
• Monitor new market trends and competition
• Identify potential new products for R&D with Managing Director and/or Operations Director.
• Work closely with Operations, Purchasing, Brand Marketing for annual new products go-to-market plan.
• Provide technical expertise for products in development, new or improvement of existing
• Ensure food safety and regulatory requirements specific to the menu development.
• Complete accurate food costing of ingredients for the products developed.
• Work along-side multiple departments with all aspects of product roll-out including marketing, creative, training and materials
• Monitor Product Performance
• Conduct Product audits as and when required.
Job Requirements
• Degree/Diploma in Culinary or its equivalent
• At least 7 years work experience in the F&B industry
• Must have basic knowledge of food product recipes, food processing, thorough knowledge of food safety standards
• Basic culinary knowledge related to equipment and technical skills
• Passion for food
• Systematic and process driven
• Ability to work well with people at all levels
• A hands-on and result-oriented person
• Able to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
• Good knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
