Responsibility:
- To develop and agree specific statement of requirements for engineering commissions to be placed with external professional engineering design consultants;
- Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and project management, ideally in transport infrastructure or water infrastructure;
- Liaise between customer, design team and contractors;
- Coordinates the development and evaluation of annual regional capital budgets within limits set by Corporate Engineering;
- Creates and checks solid models and assemblies from engineering sketches and descriptions;
- Identifying and hiring additional design engineers;
- Managing a small group of design engineers including employees and contractors;
- Work closely with Program Managers, System Engineers, HW & SW Engineers, and cross-functional teams to plan and drive the execution of engineering activities;
- Be responsible for ensuring that engineering development efforts are completed per cost and schedule and meet the defined requirements and commitments.
