Job Description
Reporting to the Manager, Operations, the Senior Executive, Operations Planner will be responsible for managing the approval process for flexibags and ensuring that all stowage planning is properly managed. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that all shipping operations are conducted in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities:
- Review and approve requests for flexibags shipments
- Develop and implement processes for the efficient and effective management of flexibags approvals
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure the proper stowage and handling of flexibags
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Develop and manage the shipping operations budget, including forecasting, planning, and monitoring of expenses related to flexibags
- Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across our shipping operations
- Ensure that our teams are trained, motivated, and equipped to meet the challenges of a dynamic and evolving shipping industry
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities
- Participate in emergency response drills and exercises to maintain readiness to respond to emergencies as needed
- Analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions regarding stowage planning
- Act as the point of contact for stowage planning with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide regular reports to the Manager, Operations and other stakeholders regarding shipping operations and performance
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, Operations
Requirements:
- Diploma from recognized institution with Maritime/Shipping related field
- 4 years of experience in shipping operations or a related field
- Knowledge of shipping operations, including vessel scheduling, cargo handling, and logistics would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret operational data to make informed decisions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a team when necessary
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
