M&E Manager (Maincon/West)

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the tender process for various kinds of contract services, which includes team formation for tenders and site team organization, overseeing the preparation of tender documents, evaluating bidders’ technical and commercial proposals, making review, and approving the recommendation on the award proposal prepared by Senior M&E Engineer/Senior QS (M&E) and finalizing the formal contract documents etc.
  • Is involved in tender clarification meetings, negotiation meetings and “kick‐off” meetings with successful bidders and/or subcontractors.
  • Oversees the preparation and interpretation of specifications, drawings, and regulations for M&E services/ systems/ installations, and the engineering calculations required for the design of projects.
  • Liaises with architects, engineers, landscape architects, environmental scientists, builders, contractors, suppliers, and project owners to ensure design intentions are met.
  • Leads the analysis and interpretation of reports on loading, labour, productivity, quality, materials and performance.
  • Leads the analysis of risks associated with natural disasters such as fire and floods, and design of systems and services to meet appropriate standards.
  • Review monthly reports on M&E activities and report to management.
  • Provides advice to management, colleagues, clients, and others on technical problems related to M&E works.
  • Identifies and establishes personnel training and development needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
  • At least 5 years of M&E working experience with contractors, construction projects and/or building variation works.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of M&E details, working drawings and local construction practices.
  • Good knowledge of local codes and regulations.
  • Ability to check combined services drawings and coordination problems with other trades.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, as well as draw detailed coordination drawings and sketches.
  • Strong time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks/ projects at one time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to influence various stakeholders and build long‐term relationships.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize issues quickly.
  • Ability to understand and analyse construction schedule and costing information.
