The Senior Risk Manager, Supply Chain Risk, enables comprehensive security risk analysis and reporting within the Global End to End Supply Chain, building methodologies and analytical capabilities to better inform the organization on the whole spectrum of security threats, risks and emerging trends that that jeopardize Amazon’s personnel, assets, operations and interests.
Key job responsibilities
1. Create detailed analytical frameworks, standards and programs to enable risk change identification, assessment and reporting. Creating mechanisms, standards and processes by translating Amazon Security Policies into real world applications to identify, classify and assess impact of negative events and bad actors.
2. Support the business with analytical deep dives to identify vector, actor and methodology of Loss, Risks, Security Breaches and Major Incidents, working with partner teams and customers to design risk-based mitigation strategies.
3. Train, advise, and partner with other functions in identifying, analyzing and reporting on risks through robust standards and processes
4. Work with stakeholders and internal customers to establish, provide, and agree on clear goals, objectives, and performance delivery outcomes as well as timelines
5. Support planning and response with internal teams and manage relationships with business units and functions.
A Day in the Life
The Senior Risk Manager works closely and on daily basis with partner Global Security Operations (GSO) teams, Regional Security & Loss Prevention (S&LP) and senior Operations leaders to determine organization challenges and needs presented by Organized Bad Actors to the security and integrity of our supply chain, translating them into robust and effective information collection and analytical tools to inform leadership and partners, supporting the creation of effective and risk based mitigation strategies. World Wide Amazon Stores (WWAS) operate in highly diversified and complex environments which includes numerous regulatory and law enforcement models, cultures, languages, criminality levels and national, political, social and security complexities. The Senior Risk Manager works to support and sustain long term programs and initiatives and can be called upon to support dynamic risk identification and reporting during changing operating risk environments. Enabling action through regional teams and partners, influencing adoption and capability continuous improvement with regional flexibility and scale.
About the Team
Working in partnership with our stakeholders, we secure the Amazon supply chain end-to-end and promote security in business decision-making conversations. We do this by identifying Security and Loss Prevention-related risks and vulnerabilities as early as possible, reporting on existing and emerging risk landscapes in order enable the minimization of any negative impact as well as thoroughly investigating security-related incidents in order to identify and remove root causes, preventing reoccurrence.
The Global Supply Chain Risk team creates and maintains a knowledge and analytical framework to ensure continuation of our business, providing risk awareness and oversight, risk preparedness, proactive and predictive reporting as a service to Business and operational Security & Loss Prevention Teams. The team provides strategic, tactical and operational mechanisms by working closely with global and regional business leaders and support functions.
The team leverages global and regional Risk & Resilience (R&R) teams to monitor existing and evolving threats, identify emerging and potential risks, assessing risk level changes in order to support increased preparedness and business adaptation and or absorption of changing risk conditions.
Basic qualifications
- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Preferred qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
- Master's degree or equivalent
