OM Materials (S) Pte Ltd (“OMS”), based in Singapore, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of OM Holdings Limited, that handles the logistics, procurement, marketing, and distribution activities of the Group.
With a long history of marketing ores and ferroalloys, OMS possesses an extensive trade network and an edge in connecting raw materials with buyers and users. Originally established in the 90s focusing on the raw materials trade in China, its scope and range of action have since evolved to a global scale, albeit retaining an Asian focus.
Collectively, OMS leverages the economies of scale of the Group’s operations to streamline raw material procurement and product sales. This is made possible by comprehensive product knowledge and a strong operational expertise in international trade execution.
Trade and Research Intern
Job responsibilities
You will be exposed to and expected to perform:
- Write research reports for sales team on a variety of topics by doing desktop research and speaking to industry participants (customers, analysts, etc.)
- Learn and acquire knowledge of the metals industry;
- Be exposed to supply chain operations and understand shipping documentation;
- Overseas Site visits to customers and company operations (time permitting).
Requirements
- Working towards a degree in any relevant discipline, demonstrated academic achievements;
- Proficient in MS Excel and comfortable with building basic models;
- Analytical and strong logical thinker, results orientated;
- Self-driven team player, a good listener and good communicator;
- Systematic and organized, ability to multi-task and thrive under pressure;
- Interest in physical commodity market.
