Reporting to the Construction Manager, the candidate will be accountable for ensuring the subcontractors perform their scope of work in the strictest of compliance to the contract documents. This role is focused on managing the mechanical and plumbing subcontractor field installation details for a large complex data center project, having stringent technical requirements.
It is expected that the candidate will be a detailed-oriented individual with extensive experience working in temporaty works on data center projects. There will be a significant amount of “hands on” work coordinating approved design documents and ensuring installed work in the field comply with such documents. The candidate must have excellent Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. team, subcontractors of all tiers, vendors and immediately establish trust and confidence in his/her ability.
Job description:
· Develop a comprehensive understanding of the contract documents (drawings and specifications), phasing plans, temporary works interrelationships, construction sequencing and project schedule
· Facilitate problem solving, as may arise, between Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and CSA subcontractors during construction
· Lead the subcontractor installation drawing approval process between the subcontractors, Resident Engineer, Resident Technical Officer, Accredited Checker, and the Local Authority having jurisdiction, and assist in the receipt and review of all temporary works submissions
· Log and post all temporary works changes and as-built information on field drawings. Provide such information to the VDC team to be incorporated into the final virtual model
· Direct, monitor and control the activities of the temporary works
· Interface with the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) manager for all client-provided equipment
· Liaise with theengineering consultant, supervisory engineers, inspectors and relevant staff
· Implement the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. cloud-based QA/QC program for the mechanical and plumbing scope of work
· Ensure that the subcontractors adhere to relevant quality documentation/records
· Assist in the testing and commissioning of mechanical and plumbing equipment
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years experience in construction project management
- Minimum of 3 years experience managing temporary works subcontract contracts (S$20+ million)
- Experience building 3+ ground up data centers or other technically intensive facilities
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in engineering or related field
- Superior civil, structural, or architectural engineering working knowledge of plans, engineering drawings, specifications and schematics associated with the mechanical and plumbing trades
- Prior experience as a site supervisor highly desirable
- Computer literacy. Significant experience with Excel, Word, and other computer based tools
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Fluency in English
