Roles and Responsibilities

System Implementation:

  • Involve in the system implementation, configuration, and maintenance of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and other lab informatics applications and dataflows.
  • Work closely with laboratory teams to identify applications and customizations required to meet new workflows, analyses and equipment.
  • Work closely with the laboratory leadership and project management teams to ensure the successful execution of projects.


Application Optimization:

  • Work closely with vendors to stay informed about updates, patches, and recommend new features for system improvement to enhance efficiency.
  • Participate with internal and external partners to develop and maintain the assigned applications and ensure its availability, reliability, and continuity.
  • Work closely with scientific staff to identify areas for enhancements and improvements to active laboratory informatics systems.


User Training and Support:

  • Provide first and second line support to the organization on existing laboratory information systems and escalate and manage third line support issues with relevant vendors.
  • Provide operational support to end users and provide guidance in the implementation of new system functionality.
  • Participate in the life cycle management of the LIMS and other application, from operational functionality to maintenance, version control and upgrades.
  • Serve as technical point of contact for troubleshooting, addition of new instruments and/or workflows into the system.
  • Train Employees requiring LIMS access as needed, using both internal manuals as well as classical methods to ensure the optimal level of knowledge of users.


Integration and Interoperability:

  • Lead efforts to integrate different applications to streamline data flow and enhance interoperability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication between various systems.


Data Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure LIMS data are available, secure, and maintained.
  • Establish procedures that effectively secure the LIMS and related applications and actively mitigates potential security risks.
  • Ensure the data and applications are protected according to the company’s disaster recovery policies.


Documentation:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all applications, configurations, and processes.
  • Keep abreast of industry best practices and incorporate them into our systems.



Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer or information technology, Management Information Technology, Information Technology, Medical Technology or relevant disciplines.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining commercial LIMS platforms will be in advantage on this position.
  • Experience of supporting informatics systems in a research, diagnostics or clinical environment would be a strong plus.
  • Experience with database reporting software applications.
  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies; for example, Amazon’s Web Services.
  • Demonstrated experience in process and software validation, including CAP and ISO.
  • Proven knowledge in system testing, validation, problem resolution, and training.
  • Working knowledge of the regulatory environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across different and diverse groups or individuals.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization.
  • Ability to work under pressure and troubleshoot problems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive experience in application testing.
  • Ability to explain technical details to non-technical staff.
  • Solid understanding of business practices with fundamental understanding of project management methodology
  • Preferred languages: Python
