About the role
We are looking for a diligent and highly motivated Legal & Compliance Executive to join the company. The successful candidate will be supporting the Compliance & Risk function and assisting with legal & compliance matters affecting the InterOpera Group.
About InterOpera
InterOpera is an exchange operator for environmental commodities (e.g. carbon credits and renewable energy certificates) and provides blockchain infrastructure to automate the entire spectrum of tasks for renewable energy asset owners. The mission of InterOpera is to digitally bridge environmental commodities and financial markets for a connected and sustainable future. Shareable Assets Pte. Ltd. is its wholly-owned subsidiary operating under a capital markets services license from the MAS.
Our roster of investors includes Korea Investment Partners (one of South Korea's largest VC firms), Kakao Investment (CVC arm of Kakao Corp which is one of the most sophisticated and influential technology companies in South Korea) as well as Vertex (the VC arm of Temasek Holdings), amongst other highly regarded investors.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, reviewing and updating of commercial documents (i.e. NDAs, contracts, agreements)
- Preparing, reviewing and updating of corporate legal / company secretarial documents (i.e. shareholder agreements, resolutions)
- Preparing, reviewing and updating of other relevant documents requiring legal input (i.e. for HR, Finance, Operations, etc.)
- Liaising and coordinating with external legal counsels and corporate secretaries
- Maintenance of internal legal folders and documents, and ensuring source of truth
- Supporting the Compliance & Risk function to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
- Providing legal input on commercial and operational decisions against laws and regulations
Requirements and skills
- Appropriate legal qualifications (i.e. Bachelor’s degree in law, Diploma in law)
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar legal support role, and preferably in a technology-focused team
- Good knowledge of relevant laws, regulations (for eg, SFA), and industry standards
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- A highly motivated and ambitious individual who is eager to grow professionally and can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
- A proactive individual with a strong sense of purpose and urgency to get things done
- Singaporeans and Permanent Residents preferred
