About the role

We are looking for an Associate Principal Research Engineer to join our growing team. The role will involve:

  • Leading an electronics research project and supervise the project engineering team.
  • Reviewing relevant articles, papers and patents and meeting with suppliers to keep informed of emerging technologies.
  • Designing, building, and testing demonstration rigs to prove feasibility of new technologies and products.
  • Creating clear technical reports and presenting design details and expected performance to others.
  • Working with a creative and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Provide direction for the project based on development experience and subject matter expertise.
  • Work with the cross functional team to plan project work, assign tasks and take responsibility for project delivery.
  • Identify and communicate technical risks and improvements in the way we work.

About you

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Electronic Engineering or comparable discipline.
  • More than five years working experience in a relevant industry or research environment.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Digital and analogue circuit design.
  • Schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics or other mainstream tools.
  • Experience of C/C++ programming for embedded systems is desirable.
  • Use of Matlab or Python for data acquisition and analysis.
  • Use of SPICE based simulation tools such as Simetrix and LTspice.
  • Experience of working in a laboratory environment. Use of lab equipment to set up experiments and to take precise measurements.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Able to communicate complex ideas to a range of experts in different fields.
  • Experience creating verification plans.
  • Experience planning and leading work in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Experience in people management or technical mentorship
