We are seeking an individual with QA/QC experience in the mechanical trades for the position of QA/QC Engineer for Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Singapore operations. The candidate will assist with the QA/QC program throughout the design and construction phase of the largest multistory data center in Asia (The Project).
Reporting to the QA/QC Manager, the candidate will be responsible for assuring the implementation and compliance with the Quality Assurance System and for scope of work related to mechanical items.
It is expected the candidate will be a very detailed and organized individual with extensive previous experience working as a QA/QC on large, international projects with deep knowledge of mechanical systems. There will be a significant amount of “hands on” work understanding and implementing the VDC QA/QC systems. The candidate must have excellent leadership and Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. team, subcontractors of all tiers, vendors and immediately establish trust and confidence in his/her ability.
The candidate will provide guidance to other team members they interact with and manage daily. The candidate will be expected to know the drawings and specifications and dig into the details to resolve issues.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute and share program evolutions and lessons learned with Fortis Construction, Inc. US operations QA/QC Managers
- Represent Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. in the utmost professional manner while constantly embracing honesty, integrity, and truth
- Comply with Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. anti-graft, non-bribery requirements
- Review approved mechanical drawings, and ensure compliance with the construction specifications
- Coordinate with Project Engineers for technical assistance, generating Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for Client-requested quality observations, and project closeout
- Work together with the mechanical contractors to properly document the quality process, tracking and final turnover
- Run the weekly QA/QC Meetings, drive open quality issues to closure, keep meeting minutes and document for future reference together with subcontractors
- Play a proactive role with field inspections, together with the subcontractors and the Client in developing pre-test plans prior to contractual testing and stay ahead of normally scheduled inspections with the authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ). Assist the contractor in resolution of known issues and lessons learned from other sites
- Assist with onsite/remote BIM 360 Field training of new Trade Partners / site personnel (iPad and Desktop) and competency with BIM 360 Field to create issues, capture QA/QC related issues, and create checklists.
- Identify issue and close them prior to punch walk and area substantial turnover date, by working with Client and Trade Partner’s QA/QC team
- Establish a great relationship with the Client, Trade Partner and local AHJ
Requirements:
- Construction management or technical engineering degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical, electrical, plumbing disciplines, codes, and regulations
