Senior Engineer / Engineer (Design, Naval Architect)

Reporting to the Lead Engineer, Design & Engineering, you shall be an integral member of Design team in providing project support on the design, construction and commissioning of specialised aluminium high-speed workboats.


Selected candidates will have the opportunity to work with cross functional teams from design conceptualisation, project execution to delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing ship’s basic and detailed design and integration.
  • Developing shipyard standards and assisting in preparing vessel’s technical specifications.
  • Follow through on assigned projects from design review to production completion.
  • Evaluating vendor’s proposals to ensure the scopes of service/supply and lead time meet project requirements.
  • Working with QA/QC to define acceptance criteria for inspection, test and trials to ensure that vessels meet Owners' standards and specifications.
  • Attending test and trials, and assisting in data evaluation, fault finding and failures analysis.

Basic Requirements:

  • Candidates must have at least three to five years’ experience in a similar capacity in the marine and offshore industry, and tertiary qualification in Naval Architecture or a related field. possess at least a NITEC or Higher NITEC or Diploma in Naval Architecture.
  • Candidates with more years of proven track record will be offered the role of Senior Engineer
  • Good working knowledge of class rules and international regulations.
  • Specialised knowledge in an engineering field (eg Mechanical or Electrical) is advantageous.
  • A team player who is able to work independently with vendors, Class and owner representatives to achieve timely design approval.
  • Good communication skills, confident in spoken and written English.
  • Proficient in relevant Microsoft Office programs including MS Project, AutoCad and ShipConstructor.
  • Working knowledge of design and 3D ship modelling software will be a plus point.

  • 5.5 days work week
  • Two-way company transport provided to and from Boon Lay / Lakeside
