Financial Crime Compliance Advisory (AML/CFT Advisory) - Private Banking

Our client, an international firm, is looking for an AML/CFT advisory individual to join the FCC team. You will be directly supporting the MLRO of the firm, under the guidance of a knowledgeable and skillful compliance manager. This role would expose you to fixed income products, covering AML related responsibilities.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert AML/CFT advice to Wealth Management and Institutional Businesses.
  • Support the MLRO in overseeing Mizuho's FCC program to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Assist the MLRO in addressing audit/inspection matters and responding to regulatory inquiries.
  • Monitor regulatory developments relevant to Mizuho Securities and conduct gap analysis.
  • Conduct compliance reviews as per the FCC work program.
  • Deliver timely and high-quality advisory support to internal stakeholders.
  • Offer clear, coherent, and consistent FCC advice, interpretations, and recommendations on regulations, policies, products, and business initiatives.
  • Establish, review, and update internal policies and procedures to meet regulatory standards.
  • Support MLRO in conducting the Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment exercise.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Compliance function as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree or professional qualification in accounting, business, law, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Financial Crime Compliance within Private Banking/Wealth Management.
  • Proficient knowledge of MAS AML Notices & Guidelines, FATF Recommendations, and industry practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate issues, solutions, and rationales diplomatically.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving abilities, focused on implementing effective control and compliance processes.
  • Ideally proficient in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
