Job Purpose
- The role requires the marketing, origination and execution of project finance transactions in APAC and also the relationship management with Japanese Companies and Japanese Governmental Agencies (ECAs, DFIs) from Structured Finance’s perspective in the region.
- The role is also to coordinate with relevant department including SMBC Head Office in Tokyo to obtain internal approvals including credit / ESG / reputational risk perspectives and also to consider business strategies and each country’s marketing strategy etc. of Structured Finance area for APAC.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationship with and Japanese Companies and Japanese Governmental Agencies in APAC.
- Conduct marketing, origination and execution of project finance transactions in APAC.
- Liaise and co-work with relevant departments and SMBC group members to obtain internal approvals including credit / ESG / reputational risk perspectives
- Strategic planning for business development of structured finance area in APAC.
- Support ad-hoc works for some senior staffs at the same department.
- Share knowledge to team members and motivate others to maximize the outcome of the team.
Job Requirements
- Over 7 years of banking sector experiences and at least 5 years experience in structured finance and/or project finance transactions.
- Experience and knowledge in project finance and Japanese ECAs/DFIs.
- Experience in working commercial banks/ECAs/DFIs - desirable if the candidate has experiences in both commercial banks and ECAs/DFIs
- Fluent in spoken and written Japanese is desirable as this role needs to discuss with Japanese government agencies/clients and make presentation in Japanese.
- Deep sector knowledges of infrastructure and power.
- Professional level of MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint,and the analysis and analysis of financial model.
- University graduate with strong academic background

- Good organisation skills and ability to prioritise, manage and meet expectations/deadlines with strong work ethics, integrity and commitment
- Knowledge of Japanese Banking Law and banking regulations
