Aicadium is looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing team at our Singapore office.
This person is responsible for designing and developing our backend services for Aicadium Products. This person must be able to drive the programming of well-constructed, testable code. The ideal candidate will have a broad technical background, a solid understanding of applicable analytics, and a natural curiosity for producing effective solutions. This person is patient, has excellent time-management skills, and possesses an effective communication style.
In addition to a Bachelor's in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience), the ideal candidate fits the following criteria:
Objectives of this role
- Work across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth
- Develop and deploy services by working closely with the data science team
- Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, and maintain high standards for code quality
- Work with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and performant software applications.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
- Implement unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
- Debug and troubleshoot software issues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required skills and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 1+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
- Strong proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C++).
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with cloud platforms and containerization
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies.
Bonus skills
- Experience in Kubernetes and Cloud-native tooling
- Practical familiarity with ML libraries and packages.
- Knowledge of one or many ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, sci-kit-learn) and tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, Seldon, etc.).
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or engineering
- Interest in learning new tools, languages, workflows, and philosophies
