Purpose: This position seeks to recruit an experienced research engineer to assist in developing new sustainable methodologies for chemical breakdown of waste plastics.
Job Responsibilities:
- The researcher will be involved in and contribute actively to waste plastics upcycling research, including but not limited to the following:
- Assist in synthesis and characterisation of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts and assist in reaction screening
- Be in charge of essential research equipment and maintennance
- Assist in training and mentoring staff, interns and students as and when required
- Curating and managing experimental data, and assist in preparation of reports, presentations, technological disclosures and manuscripts
Job Requirements:
- MSc in Chemistry or equivalent with at least 3 years experience
- Familiar with chemical synthesis and routine/ essential characterization techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work cohesively in a team whilst sharing resources
- Strong interest to learn about new technologies
- Excellent organizational skills including attention to details
- Willingness to learn, with adaptability and flexibility to take on required/necessary tasks beyond the job description
