Opportunity and Purpose

The General Manager role is multifaceted, encompassing various aspects of business management. This includes overseeing the day-to-day of leasing commercial vehicle business, managing staff, ownership of the leasing process, and steering the business performance by balancing multiple responsibilities to ensure smooth operation

Here’s the breakdown of the key responsibilities:

  1. Business Management and Operations: Develop the business that contribute directly to the company's success and implement business strategies to increase efficiency and profitability
  2. Financial Oversight: Responsible for the financial health of the leasing business, manage budgets, set financial goals, and ensure that the company is meeting its financial targets. This includes analyzing financial reports, managing expenses, and making strategic decisions based on financial data
  3. Customer Service and Relations: Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction is crucial. Must ensure that the team provides excellent service, resolves customer complaints effectively, and builds long-term relationships with clients. This may also be involved in negotiating lease terms and handling major client accounts
  4. Marketing and Sales: Developing and implementing marketing strategies to attract new customers is another key responsibility. This includes overseeing advertising campaigns, managing online presence, and working with the sales team to promote leasing options and close deals
  5. Fleet Management: The General Manager needs to have a good understanding of the vehicles in the fleet, including their features, maintenance needs, and market value. They are responsible for the acquisition and disposal of vehicles, ensuring that the fleet meets customer needs and remains competitive
  6. Regulatory Compliance: Must ensure that the business complies with all relevant laws and regulations. This includes keeping up to date with changes in legislation that could affect the leasing business
  7. Staff Management and Development: Leading and managing the team is a critical part of the role. The General Manager is responsible for setting performance standards, expectations to drive the team and evaluating staff performance
  8. Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks associated with vehicle leasing, such as financial risks, legal risks, and operational risks as a vital part of their job
  9. Technology and Systems: Implementing and managing the technology systems used in the leasing process, such as customer relationship management (CRM) software and vehicle tracking systems, is also important
  10. Industry Knowledge and Networking: Keeping abreast of industry trends, attending conferences, and networking with other professionals in the automobile leasing industry are important for staying competitive and informed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in preferably business administration
  • At least 8 years of experience in sales, business development in the automobile industry in vehicle leasing with more than 1000 fleet of commercial vehicles or passenger’s car
  • To manage sales or operations team or both with a team size of more than 20 headcounts
  • Dynamic, Inspiring, Resourceful, Innovative and a self-starter with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Operational excellence with strong work ethics and sense of accountability in ownership
  • Valid Class 3/3A license
