Job Description
- Responsible for quantity take-off and cost estimation of tenders and projects
- Manage project budgets, monitoring costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure that expenses align with the budgeted amounts
- Analyze tender outcome and prepare detailed reports for review and submit and discuss with Senior QS
- Make sure the accurate and detailed cost estimation of construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs
- Responsible for tender pricing preparation and tender submission
- Evaluating and selecting competent suppliers and main contractor for the construction works and maintain good relationship
- Responsible for order taking and make sure timely delivery of order
- Measure and determine the amounts of work done at each stage in order to prepare periodic progress payment requests for submission
- Prepare and follow up monthly progress claims in timely
- Assist Senior QS for construction contracts and activities and deal with all contractual related issues including extension of time, loss and expense claims, terms and conditions etc
- Aware and comply with relevant regulations such as Security of Payment Act (SOP) and ensure compliance with relevant ISO and company standards or objectives
- Attend meeting and travel to site is required to follow up the progress as well as to provide cost escalation alerts
- Communicate between internal functional departments and external parties such as sub-contractor, suppliers, tender team, and finance department etc
Job Requirement:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- At least 3 years of QS experience in construction area is required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills to accurately estimate costs
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
- Willing to work overtime during critical periods as and when required
- Able to complete tasks within deadlines and work well under pressure
- Result orientated in a fast pace and multi-task environment
- Able to attend to emergency call due to project and works needs after office hours
- Undertake any other duties assigned by management from time to time
- Willing to travel to site and attend meeting as required
- Able to work and complete the task independently without supervision
