The successful candidate will provide critical Information Technology (IT) support in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. He/she will be part of the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) team responsible for the smooth functioning and continual improvements and upgrades of the IT and related systems. The successful candidate will also work closely with partners in the Integrated Hospital Information Systems (IHIS).
Responsibilities:
- Development of operating standards, policies, and procedures for end-users and end-user training
- Critical review and timely recommendations of process redesign where necessary
- Support and administration of the LIS
- Purchase of hardware and software
- Identification of IT needs including data storage, interfaces and connectivity
- Participation in hospital or cluster-level projects and systems upgrades
- First level trouble-shooting of IT problems including after-hours emergencies
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline; however, diploma holders in Computer Studies with significant experience and track record will be considered
- Relevant experience in a similar role; experience in line management and healthcare project management will be advantageous
- Excellent written and communication skills
- An ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in office automation systems and both intranet and internet applications, including knowledge of hospital and healthcare IT systems e.g. SAP, Cerner, CPOE, medical records applications
