The ICC Office under InsPIRE is responsible for a wide spectrum of activities related to NTU’s Interdisciplinary Collaborative Core (ICC) curriculum which is part of the NTU Education 2025 strategy.
ICC Office is responsible for working with the different colleges/schools to offer and administer the seven core ICC courses that will be taken by all NTU students admitted from AY2021-22 onwards.
This role is required to oversee the management, administrative and coordination aspects of the ICC that include academic planning, timetabling, course registration, and course delivery and assessment, and the assignment and management of the faculty, ICC Lecturers and ICC Specialists hired to teach the courses.
The role is critical in ensuring a meaningful and value-adding learning experience for all NTU undergraduates and the faculty involved in ICC teaching.
Responsibilities
Office Administration
- Assist in the procurement, reimbursement and financial activities of ICC Office
- Assist colleagues from InsPIRE and other units under InsPIRE in overseeing office related matters
- Assist with the planning and organisation of ICC-related meetings, workshops/seminars, activities
- Assist with the selection of ICC instructors for the Nanyang Excellence Awards for Teaching
- Assist with all other ICC-related administrative tasks
Course & Student Administration
- Support inter-college/school/department collaboration and serve as one of the points of contact between ICC Office and Colleges/Schools and Course Coordinators on matters relating to student enrolment, and the coordination of academic matters and activities
- Assist in all ICC course-related matters, duties will include being a liaison to all course coordinators and instructors, submitting course outlines for approval, timetabling planning, course registration, setting up of course and assessment sites, organisation of the end-of semester quizzes, uploading and consolidation of course marks/grades, end-of-semester Board of Examiners meeting, administering and consolidating data from course surveys, handling of course-related enquiries, and handling of all course-related student matters
Faculty & HR Matters
- Work with colleges/schools and course coordinators on the assignment and allocation of full-time and adjunct instructors teaching ICC courses
- Assit HR and schools on the appointment of new adjunct instructors and reappointment of existing adjunct instructors
- Prepare the necessary information needed and scheduling of ICC instructors for annual performance appraisal of ICC instructors and coordinate with HRBY and the reporting officers of ICC lecturers on appraisal meetings
Outreach
- Serve as a point of contact and support to students, partners and schools on matters related to the ICC
- Support activities to share and promote ICC’s mission and curriculum, including the compilation and production of relevant marketing materials and eDMs
- Assist in the planning and organisation of ICC-related outreach activities including marketing collaterals (eg, door gifts)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma with at least 2 years of relevant working experience, preferably in an institute of higher learning and/or the education sector
- Prior experience in a relevant administrative role in an institute of higher learning will be advantageous
- Meticulous with good organisational skills and a keen eye for detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good writing skills
- Proficient in handling data and numbers
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access) - knowledge in intermediate Excel is a requirement
- Knowledge of student information/database management systems would be advantageous
