Our client is a growing international bank, looking to hire a legal counsel and regulatory compliance specialist. With great focus in regulatory compliance, you will be under the guidance of a knowledgeable and strong leader, reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Legal Officer.
Role Responsibility:
- Provide expert advice and training on legal and regulatory requirements, policies, and standards of professional conduct.
- Support the design and implementation of Legal, Regulatory Compliance (RC), and Conduct frameworks, policies, and procedures for digital-led banking in Singapore.
- Ensure end-to-end implementation and effectiveness of frameworks for identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, mitigating, and reporting Legal, RC, and Conduct risks, including data conduct.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to manage issues and risks effectively, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Act as the second line of defense for managing Legal, RC, and Conduct risks, escalating issues as necessary.
- Stay updated with legal and regulatory developments, manage consultations, and support the implementation of legislative and regulatory changes.
- Provide legal and regulatory advice and drafting for retail banking products, including credit cards, lending, and savings accounts.
- Review and advise on legal and regulatory aspects of customer journeys, new products/features, customer communications, and marketing materials.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and customer experiences, developing innovative solutions.
- Provide legal and regulatory advice on customer complaints and disputes.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- At least 3 years of experience in the financial sector, with a minimum of 2 years in Legal and/or Regulatory Compliance second line of defense roles.
- Intermediate proficiency in legal/compliance advisory on regulations, policies, and standards, including data conduct.
- Legal qualification in Singapore, called to the Singapore bar, or possessing a Singapore law degree.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership, solve problems under pressure, innovate, and achieve sustainable results.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly.
- Willingness to explore new solutions and ideas to enhance processes and customer experiences.
