Job Purpose
As part of the Financial Risk Management team within Group Risk Management, you will be part of the team responsible for developing and implementing models used for managing various financial risks of the Group. This role will provide you with on the job exposure to financial risk management within Great Eastern, which is the largest insurer in the Singapore market.
The Job
- Develop and implement Stochastic Asset and Liability Management (“ALM”) models for various risk related analysis such as solvency management and strategic asset allocations;
- Calibrate real world as well as risk neutral models (interest rates, credits, equities etc.) and generate stochastic economic scenarios for risk and valuation purposes;
- Build and streamline limits monitoring tools including the automation of derivatives and limits reports.
- Assist in the implementation of risk analytics platform such as MSCI and other enterprise business intelligence tools for risk management purposes;
- Ad hoc financial risk management assignments.
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
- Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
Our Requirements
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in quantitative model development, risk analytics, financial risk management or other similar fields in a financial institution;
- Good university degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Financial Engineering etc.) with a strong ability of handling data and performing quantitative analysis;
- Familiar with the main risk drivers and valuation of various financial instruments including derivatives using Monte Carlo and other numerical methods;
- Knowledge of life/general insurance and machine learning models is a plus;
- Proficient in commonly used programming languages such as Python, R and SQL; and
- Strong team player with good written and verbal communication skills.
