Job Description
- Review architectural plans and liaise with clients to discuss project requirement to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on detailed analysis of materials, labor, and other expenses required for construction projects at the best possible prices while maintaining quality standards.
- Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors for the best deals. Collate all prices for comparison.
- Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and forecasting costs throughout the project lifecycle. Identify potential cost overruns and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and specifications. Evaluate contractor performance and process payments in accordance with contractual terms.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering to optimize project outcomes without compromising quality. Recommend alternative materials or construction methods to achieve cost efficiencies.
- Perform risk, value management and cost control. Develop risk management strategies to protect project budgets and timelines from financial risks associated with construction projects, such as changes in scope, delays, and unforeseen circumstances.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with quality standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements. Conduct site inspections and quality audits to identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate project records, including cost reports, change orders, and correspondence. Prepare regular progress reports and financial forecasts for clients and management.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing their concerns and providing regular updates on project status, costs, and performance.
- Prepare and analyse costings for tender. Submit tender documents and respond to tender clarifications from clients to successfully win the projects. Accountable for reviewing tender documents, drawings and quantity taking-off
- Arrange for Performance bond for submission to Client
- Draft contractual correspondences, letter of extension/ variation letters, supplemental agreement etc to Sub-contractors (as and when required)
- Liaise with Project managers and site personals to gather monthly work done details and supporting documents to prepare progress claims on time.
- Prepare and submit Progress Claims to clients and follow-up to obtain payment certificates on time.
- Prepare quotations for various technical works, material, manpower etc
- Assist in other ad hoc duties as and when assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering / quantity surveying or equivalent with at least 2 years relevant working experience.
- Preferably to have experience in cost estimating, budget management, and contract administration within the construction industry.
- Possess good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Willing to work beyond normal working hours as and when required
- Willing to work within Ubi Crescent Vicinity
- Able to commence work within short notice.
