About the role


This position is for an Associate Director, EH&S Asia Services who will be leading multiple teams headed by EH&S generalist managers or supervisors, establishing, and executing EH&S operations and objectives for HVAC Services in Asia. Recommends and implements policies / operating plans in support of EH&S strategy. Communicates and collaborates with services operations, EH&S management, and senior executive leadership within and outside EH&S on industry best practices while ensuring compliance. Also delivers EH&S performance and strategic plans in management review meetings and drives multiple EH&S initiatives for multiple lines of business.


Key Responsibilities:


As an Associate Director, EH&S Asia Services, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Manages a dispersed team of country and regional EHS Managers across Asia.
  • Advocates the importance of EHS in the organization and actively supports the organization's efforts to meet or exceed EHS goals and plans.
  • Collaborates with service operations to integrate EHS performance into branch operations.
  • Leads continuous improvement in EHS while ensuring comprehensive operational compliance.
  • Leads the EHS program to achieve and maintain compliance with current and future legal, regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Participates in management review meetings to present EHS performance, discuss upcoming EHS actions to improve functional performance, and proactively identify and address EHS issues which may affect operations or may provide strategic advantage to the business.
  • Collaborates with other EHS professionals to establish or adopt best practices relevant to the industry.
  • Drives all EHS regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Serves as subject matter expert on communications with external authorities and other key stakeholders on EHS matters relating to HVAC Asia EHS business activities.
  • Develops and implements EHS plans for Asia that are aligned with the strategic direction.
  • Develops strategies and provide guidance to management on the prevention of workplace incidents and illnesses.
  • Oversees EHS investigations into workplace incidents to uncover root causes, identify immediate and preventative actions and capture “lessons learned”.
  • Actively promote embedding EHS in “what we do” and that EHS is a shared responsibility rooted in the right EHS culture.
  • Builds key external stakeholder relationships including industry associations, authorities and regulatory bodies on regional EHS matters.
  • Manages prequalification, deployment, and safety performance of subcontractors.
  • Conducts EHS inspections, audits and risk assessments at customer sites, company premises (workshops, warehouses, offices) to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and company EHS Operating System.
  • Ensure that correct and timely reporting of EHS data in company (Enablon) EHS reporting system.
  • Ensure business continuity by proactively identifying and managing EH&S aspects, impacts, hazards and risk. Ensure the mitigation of EH&S aspects, impacts, hazards and risk in all business decisions through management of change.
  • Guide entities in implementation of ISO14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and certification.

Requirements


We are looking for people who has experience leading and familiar with construction or field services based operations. If this is you, get in touch.


As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Advanced EHS related degree or MBA preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams across multiple countries
  • 10+ years progressive EHS work experience gained working with organizations in construction or field services based operations.
  • Be willing to travel 50% of time.
  • Regulatory knowledge including safety, environmental and other regulatory standards applicable to building services industries and construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate, and lead teams, drive change and interact cross functionally.
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal.
  • Proficient in multiple software applications including, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other industry related software (SDS, Injury Management, etc.).
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively.
