Most recently, our Singapore Regional Office just celebrated it’s 6th-year anniversary in Jan 2024, delivering environmental solutions in Singapore, South-east Asia, and beyond! Role Overview:

As the Principal Environmental Consultant (Practice Lead), you will play a pivotal role in driving our environmental consultancy practice forward in the South-east Asia region. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and contribute to diverse projects. You will be responsible for project management, client engagement, technical leadership, and business development, ensuring compliance with Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) standards.


Key Responsibilities:


Technical Leadership:

• Provide expert technical guidance and oversight on projects.

• Lead environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) in accordance with local and international standards, including IFC Performance Standards.

• Ensure compliance with Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and Environmental Monitoring Plans (EMPs).

• Advanced scientific skills that you can bring to the business, lead and guide other scientists across the Group.

• Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in environmental consulting.


Project Management:

• Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation to completion, including budgeting and scheduling.

• Coordinate project teams, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within scope.

• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize environmental impacts.

• Prepare high-quality technical reports and deliverables for clients and regulatory bodies.


Client Engagement:

• Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing updates on project progress.

• Provide strategic advice to clients on environmental compliance, sustainability, and best practices.

• Identify opportunities for additional services and upselling to existing clients.

• Business Development:

• Drive business growth by identifying new business opportunities and developing proposals across the SEA region, and as required, other parts of the Group.

• Collaborate with the business development team to expand our presence in the SEA region.

• Participate in conferences, workshops, and networking events to enhance the company's visibility.

• Develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, development banks, NGOs, and industry associations.


Team Leadership:

• Mentor and lead a team of environmental consultants, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

• Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members.

• Encourage a culture of excellence and accountability within the team.

• Promote a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship.


Qualifications and Experience:

•Have a high level of scientific expertise (10+ years professional experience) in either the physical, biological or chemical processes of aquatic systems (marine and/or freshwater), preferably with post-graduate qualifications (Bachelor’s degree minimum).

• Minimum 5 years gained in a consulting environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders effectively.

• Leadership experience, including managing teams and guiding junior staff.

• Business development skills, with a knack for identifying and pursuing new opportunities.

•Significant experience at a leadership level managing services across geographically diverse locations.


Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to travel for project assignments within the SEA region.

• Proficiency in relevant software and tools for environmental assessments and project management. Benefits:
