Responsibilities
- Negotiate with suppliers of final products, packaging material, collaterals etc to acquire items that meet our requirements
- Prepare purchase requisitions and purchase orders to both Singapore and overseas suppliers.
- Track and monitor deliveries/shipments from suppliers
- Follow-up continuously with suppliers to ensure timely delivery & find solutions to any possible delays
- Perform quality analysis and control on delivered products.
- Create & monitor detailed reports on inventory levels of items.
- Work with the brand/sales team to ensure purchases and consequently inventory levels of products correspond with sales activity.
- Work with the finance team to process supplier invoices for payment
- Work with the operations/logistics team to ensure incoming orders are processed into our ERP system and stored in our warehouse in a timely manner.
- Handle cargo claims/discrepancies
- Problem solving with team and manufacturers whenever issues occur with products
Requirements
- The candidate MUST have at least 3 years’ experience in a purchasing role preferably in the (FMCG) fast-moving consumer goods industry.
- The candidate must be highly skilled in use of Excel spreadsheets.
- Experience in use of the Sage 300 ERP system would be an advantage
