We are seeking Piping Supervisors with similar values, who can put his or her expertise to work on the New Petrochemical Project Construction site in PCS, Ayer Merbau, Jurong Island. This professional will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects at once and serving as the representative at each worksite in dealings with subcontractors, suppliers, customers, and government inspectors. He or she will be expected to ensure compliance with all federal and state procedures, regulations, and codes, and present progress updates to appropriate management channels regularly. With each project, this individual is counted on to drive the innovation we are known for.
Objectives of this Role
· Manage, control, and monitor daily construction works as per approved procedures, approved specifications, and approved drawings. Instruction to the piping and mechanical installation subcontractor. Progress and quality control are also included in the daily work.
· Supervise all works of piping and mechanical works.
· Progress tracking and reviewing of the daily/weekly monthly report submitted by the subcontractors.
· Close communication with the subcontractors and the superior; QC group, the field engineers, the other supervisors, Area Managers, the Construction Manager, and the Site Manager.
· Attending regular meetings with the subcontractors.
· Ensure that the work is conducted following the required quality and safety regulations.
· To co-ordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remained within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with the project management team at the Construction site in Jurong Island, HQ in Japan, and Japanese client.
· Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions.
· Elevation, orientation, levelness and alignment of Piping/equipment at the site as per approved drawings.
· Documents control, maintaining day-to-day activity records.
· Able to work long hours/ weekends as and when required.
· Line walk, Punch clearance, Hydrostatic testing, flushing, reinstatement and OATT of Piping loops.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
· Attend daily/weekly meetings with the subcontractors.
· Review the subcontractors’ daily reports.
· Verify the subcontractors’ progress report.
· Check the tools and machinery for the Subcontractor’s work.
· Watch Manage, control, and monitor daily construction works. Instruction to the piping and mechanical installation subcontractor. Progress and quality control are also included in the daily work.
Skills and Qualifications
· Diploma/Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
· 5+ years’ experience in the management of new construction and remodeling projects.
· Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts.
· Knowledge of API/ASME Piping code requirements and scheduling methods.
· Required certificate of Singapore safety regulation and regular practices for the work (BCSS, SWSHPP, MWAH, SWCSO, etc.). AWSHPP/SWSHPP is mandatory for working at the site of this project.
· Must be physically capable of conducting field inspections and participating in project walks.
Preferred Qualifications
· Fluent or solid working knowledge of Japanese (To maintain excellent communication with Japanese clients)
· Project management experience with emphasis on direct supervision.
