The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 12-month contract at the Office of Education Research (OER).
Project Title: Meta-synthesis of the Science Underlying Character & Citizenship Education (CCE)
Project Introduction: The specific objectives of this project are as follows:
Objective 1: To review and synthesise relevant theories/processes on foundational concepts in CCE.
Objective 2: To develop a rigorous and actionable SCCCE framework that is
a) grounded on philosophical, psychological and educational theories about character and citizenship education; and
b) informed by latest research across various interrelated disciplines.
Requirements
- Have a Bachler’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Psychology, Philosophy, Education), or expect to have such a degree by the starting time of the position
- Demonstrated ability to conduct literature search and synthesis
- Ability to write reports, publications and presentation materials
- Ability to present research findings through various platforms
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Able to work cooperatively in teams
- Candidate with a Masters degree in a relevant discipline with at least 3 years of relevant experience may be considered for a Research Associate position.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to review and synthesise relevant theories/processes on foundational concepts in CCE.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop a rigorous and actionable SCCCE framework.
- Assist in the development of research projects and programmes in seeking and pursuing appropriate external funding;
- Disseminate the outcomes of research in peer-reviewed publications of international standing;
- Other administrative duties as assigned by the Principle Investigator and the Co-Principle Investigators
