This role will be a key member of the Airwallex Group Finance team. As Group Finance Manager you will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy of the Monthly financial reporting across all our finance regions. You take ownership of our group Consolidation and own the accounting for complicated accounting aspects, including supporting the Group audit. As Group Finance Manager you will closely collaborate with our FP&A teams and lead our efforts to continuously improve reporting processes . You support the investigation of technical accounting topics and share relevant guidance with all regions (ie: for when we launch a new product). Your role will be a combination of recurring finance tasks and project based initiatives to continuous improve the controllership team within Airwallex.
Responsibilities:
- Own the financial control procedures on our monthly reporting processes including the review of regional financial data submission to FP&A
- Lead the Group consolidation and complex Group accounting topics on VIE, ESOP/RSU, valuations of intangibles, equity/debt instruments, etc.
- Support project to expand our US GAAP reporting framework and develop internal accounting guidance to ensure accuracy and consistency in our reporting.
- Drive a wide range of improvement projects for the Controllership team within Airwallex, these projects may include 1) Enabling new products in our reporting structure 2) Standardizing our Group Reporting and template globally 3) Any process improvement to that will help Airwallex’s controllership function to grow and mature to the next level!
- Close collaboration with our regional finance teams to continuously increase the financial control on their regional financials.
- Closely collaborate with product or business teams that require finance support on new product developments
- Close collaboration with other finance teams on department wide projects and change management
- Responsibilities of the role may develop over time.
What you bring:
- 5-6+ years of finance experience, Big Four experience is advantageous
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, CPA or equivalent qualification preferred
- Strong understanding of financial services, fintech businesses and regulatory environments
- Extensive experience in a (Group) financial controlling role and proven track record of building and expanding these capabilities within an organization.
- Strong knowledge on US GAAP standards and being able to apply them in practice.
- Proven experiencing in managing complex, local or international projects focused on process improvement initiatives
- Strong communicator and ability to interact with all levels within the organization
- Confident, creative and innovative thought leadership and communication skills to deliver impact in a hyper growth environment
- Experience working independently and navigating ambiguity
