Description
The Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring the integrity and resiliency of IT infrastructure to provide maximum performance for Rotary offices, project offices and its clients.
The Network Engineer will assist the IT Infrastructure Manager to maintain, support and optimized key functional areas such as network, data/telecommunications system and security. Required to participate in all infrastructure improvement activities.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Responsible to provide L2/L3 network support for day-to-day operations.
- Responsible for designing, planning, implementing, administering & fine tuning of Rotary network systems, including LAN, Wireless LAN, WAN, internet and their associated software, hardware and communication links
- Conduct troubleshooting network/performance issues; analyse network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of Rotary’s network & security systems.
- Secure network systems by establishing, enforcing policies and monitoring access.
- Support and administration of firewall and VPN environments in line with IT Security policy.
- Ensure network solutions are compliant with security standards and guidelines and conform to industry and organizational best practice.
- Hands-on experience in administration & support of Cisco voice, modern web meeting platform (MS Teams, Zoom, etc) and video conference equipment.
- Participate in IT projects when required; not restricting to Infrastructure/Network activities.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Computer or equivalent
- CCNA/CCNP certification will be an advantage
- 3-5 years of experience of relevant working experience in a large user environment
- Experience in network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, QOS
- Experience in VOIP protocols such as H323 and SIP is preferred
- Good communicator with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment to engage and motivate team members
- Positive attitude and able to work well with culturally and geographically diverse teams
