Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network and Security Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining our organization's network infrastructure and security measures. This role requires a strong technical background in networking, security protocols, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues.
Job Scope
1. Network Infrastructure Management:
· Design, implement, and manage robust and scalable network architectures.
· Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment.
· Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
2. Security Implementation:
· Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure the protection of the organization's information and systems.
· Install, configure, and maintain security hardware and software, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
· Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
3. Incident Response and Resolution:
· Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely detection and resolution.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and mitigate security breaches or incidents.
· Implement and manage security measures to safeguard against unauthorized access.
4. Network Optimization:
· Identify opportunities for network optimization and improvement.
· Implement strategies to enhance network performance and reliability.
· Work closely with other IT teams to integrate network solutions with other systems.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
· Create and maintain comprehensive network and security documentation.
· Generate regular reports on network and security metrics, trends, and incidents.
6. Collaboration and Training:
· Collaborate with other IT professionals and departments to ensure a cohesive and secure IT environment.
· Provide training and support to staff on security best practices and policies.
7. Stay Current with Industry Trends:
· Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and security threats.
· Continuously update skills and certifications to maintain expertise
We would love to hear from you if:
1. You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. You have 0 to 3 years’ of proven experience as a Network and Security Engineer or similar role.
3. You have Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Security+, or CISSP are highly desirable.
4. You have in-depth knowledge of networking protocols, security architecture, and best practices.
5. You have hands-on experience with firewall administration, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN technologies.
6. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. You are an excellent team player and an approachable character.
8. You have excellent communications skills.
