As a laytime executive at JITPL, the incumbent will play a pivotol role in overseeing and optimizing vessel chartering activities and maintaning adherence to corporate policies. His/her responsibilities will encompass coordinating with stakeholders and providing expertise on shipping related matters.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee the overall review of demurrage and despatch calculations.
a. Laytime calculations and closure with shipper, buyer and owners
b. Coordination with traders and accounts team to ensure collection of laytime payments
c. Responsible for all laytime calculations and post fixture records.
2. Stakeholder Coordination
a. Collaborate with shippers, buyers, suppliers etc to establish and maintain effective communication on shipping terms.
b. Advise the operations team on laycan, port of loading, discharge port laycan, and other relevant details.
c. Advise operations team and Chartering Manager on laytime calculations and freight costs.
d. Monitor all laytime and freight costs, identify opportunities and proactively develop action plan for cost savings.
e. Conduct a comparative study of market players in the shipping industry, advising on cost- effective shipping services with timely deliveries.
3. Shipping Activities
a. Oversee seamless execution of charter parties.
b. Responsible for all operational work and communication among shippers, agents, brokers, buyers, sellers, JITPL team related to shipments.
c. Act as an escalation point to understand any gaps in shipping operations and ensure timely resolution.
d. Advise the container shipping business on shipping related matters
4. Ad- Hoc Responsibilities
a. Undertake any other related tasks or projects assigned by the management from time to time.
