Senior Finance and Operations Manager

Accounts & Financial Management

  • Oversee all company accounts and investments
  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
  • Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants
  • Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback
  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
  • Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports
  • Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
  • Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
  • Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
  • Report to the CEO with timely and accurate financial information
  • Assist the CEO in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board member

Trade and Hedge Account Management

  • Update trade sheet on a daily basis for physical (bulk and Pakistan account), paper- commodity and currency trade transactions, settlements and wash outs
  • Prepare position statement by commodity and account (JV companies and others)
  • Ensure documentation for trade contracts, settlement/washout communication – email and letters
  • Ensure monthly reconciliation with accounts for currency, physical and paper trade by various accounts, share the signed physical recon statement with the promoter

Memo Account Management

  • There are certain memo accounts managed by the company, where in the accounts closure is done as the sales invoice is generated while actual sales realization is yet to happen. The sale has an exposure of commodity price fluctuation and currency exchange fluctuation (sold in diff currency). The key responsibilities are:
  • Prepare cost estimate vessel wise and commodity wise
  • Coordinate with JV team and ensure discipline and controls for sales data accuracy
  • Manage hedge sheet
  • Reconcile voyage wise P&L within 7 days of voyage completion and prepare debit/credit (to be raised) statement considering price difference (if any), interest on bank credit and hedge realization


Value Added Business

Value added business includes container and packaged rice shipments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Trade sheet update and daily position reporting
  • Customer wise exposure reporting including- sold stock but not yet shipped (commodity price and accuracy) + Shipped stock (currency)
  • Collateral Management Agreement (CMA) stock status and pending payment
  • Customer wise P&L through operations data (Sale- Purchase price, Freight, Insurance, Interest, Commission, Others)
  • Vessel arrival status- daily report

Job Requirements

  • 7-10 years in a senior financial management role
  • Advanced degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Some experience in trade and hedge account management
