Job Description:
As a Wind Turbine Energy and Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation and maintenance of wind turbine facilities, as well as implementing sustainability initiatives to optimize energy production and reduce environmental impact. Your role will involve managing all aspects of wind turbine operations, including maintenance scheduling, performance monitoring, and compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, you will develop and execute strategies to enhance sustainability practices, minimize carbon footprint, and promote renewable energy usage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of wind turbine facilities, including monitoring turbine performance, scheduling maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of wind turbines and associated equipment to identify maintenance needs, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to implement improvements and upgrades to enhance turbine efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to maximize energy production and minimize environmental impact, such as optimizing turbine placement, implementing wildlife protection measures, and reducing noise emissions.
- Monitor energy production data, analyze performance metrics, and generate reports to track progress and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments related to wind energy and sustainability practices.
- Engage with stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and environmental organizations, to address concerns, promote awareness, and foster positive relationships.
- Implement strategies to enhance the overall sustainability of wind turbine operations, such as waste reduction, water conservation, and use of eco-friendly materials.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers involved in wind turbine maintenance and support activities.
- Lead training and development initiatives to ensure staff members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to support sustainable wind turbine operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience (15+ years) in wind energy operations, maintenance, or project management.
- Strong understanding of wind turbine technology, operation principles, and maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to wind energy and environmental sustainability.
- Experience with data analysis tools, performance monitoring systems, and software used in wind energy operations.
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage stakeholders.
- Certification or training in wind turbine operations and maintenance is desirable.
- Demonstrated commitment to environmental sustainability and renewable energy.
- Willingness to travel to wind turbine sites and work in outdoor environments as needed.
