Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer and WiFi Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure with a specific focus on WiFi technologies. You will collaborate with other team members to ensure that our network meets the performance, security, and reliability requirements of our organization. Additionally, you will troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to our WiFi network to minimize downtime and maximize user satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
· Design, deploy, and maintain WiFi networks for our organization, ensuring optimal performance and coverage.
· Conduct site surveys to assess WiFi coverage and identify potential areas for improvement.
· Configure and optimize WiFi controllers, access points, and other network equipment.
· Implement security measures to protect our WiFi network from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
· Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues related to WiFi connectivity, signal interference, and bandwidth utilization.
· Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate WiFi networks with existing infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
· Stay up-to-date with emerging WiFi technologies and industry best practices to recommend and implement improvements.
· Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
· Provide training and support to end-users on connecting to and troubleshooting WiFi networks.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· Proven experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on WiFi technologies.
· Strong knowledge of wireless networking protocols, including 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax.
· Experience with WiFi site survey tools and techniques.
· Hands-on experience with WiFi controllers and access points from vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, or Ruckus.
· Familiarity with network security principles and technologies, including WPA2, WPA3, and 802.1X authentication.
· Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex network issues.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and end-users.
· Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP) are a plus.
