Responsibilities
My client is looking for a Data Center Engineer (onsite) to support the firm.
• Minimum of a Diploma in computer science, IT, or Engineering.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in enterprise Data Center operation and management.
• Experience in maintaining asset information in ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is desirable.
• Familiarity with maintaining the Data center infrastructure management (DCIM) system is advantageous.
• Support and participate in various operations and projects related to the Data Center, including but not limited to:
o Providing technical assistance and day-to-day operational support.
o Coordinating, assisting, and escorting personnel for network cabling work with appointed vendors.
o Ensuring network cables are installed and labeled according to standards.
o Conducting housekeeping of unused network cables.
o Coordinating, assisting, and escorting personnel for equipment installation, removal, and disposal activities.
o Ensuring IT devices are installed and labeled according to standards.
o Coordinating and assisting in replacing faulty equipment (e.g., PDU, Rack, cables).
o Updating and verifying Data Center IT asset information in CMDB and DCIM.
o Ensuring Data Center visitor logbooks are accurately filled.
o Conducting quarterly reviews of Data Center visitor logbooks.
o Replacing Data Center visitor logbooks as required.
o Conducting quarterly reviews of the Data Center access matrix and access log.
o Conducting quarterly reviews of the Key Management System access matrix.
o Maintaining Data Center cleanliness.
o Enforcing Data Center policy and change management procedures.
