This role will support Cut Edge & Fit in ensuring our production schedules are fulfilled on a day-to-day basis, to ensure smooth operations. He/she must have a strong interest in Lens edging process; to ensure daily output meets quality, productivity, yield and delivery targets and he/she should be able to detect machine problems and inefficiencies; debugs and provides potential solutions and attempts to troubleshoot, using technical knowledge.
Ensures all Cut Edge & Fit machines/equipments are working exactly as intended and the finished products meets/exceeds customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Support CEF team in performing work efficiently to meet production schedules
- Edger duties (Incoming/Final Quality check, Dotting of FSV lenses/Tracing/Blocking/Edging/Fitting)
- Operate machines and equipment supporting CEF production
- Production scheduling, prior to peak volume periods and periodically afterwards
- Inspection of machines, calibrations, adjustments, maintains production machines and equipment, ensures equipment and work floor are clean, safe, and well maintained
- Update process data into system for process monitoring
- Data updates on machine routine maintenance record, daily output log
- Predictive and Preventive Maintenance of MEI Machines
- Implement and execute the TPM (Total Productive Management) and PCP (Process Control Plan) processes to align with Global CEF Standards
Requirements
- Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Manufacturing) and/or Diploma in Optometry, Opticianry Certificate
- 3 years relevant work experience or edging experience
- Familiar with Production Scheduling and predictive/preventive maintenance
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under time pressure
- Proactive mindset with the ability to tactfully handle stressful and difficult situations
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong technical knowledge and passion for Edging
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is a must
