Position Summary
The Retail Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing daily operations within the retail environment. This position requires a combination of leadership, customer service, and organizational skills to ensure smooth functioning of the retail outlet. The Retail Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of retail staff, implementing sales strategies, maintaining inventory levels, and delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
Team Management
· Supervise and motivate retail staff to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
· Schedule shifts and allocate tasks effectively to ensure optimal coverage and productivity.
· Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
· Foster a positive working environment and address any issues or conflicts that may arise among staff.
Sales and Customer Service
· Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and resolving customer complaints or concerns.
· Implement sales strategies to drive revenue and meet or exceed sales targets.
· Train retail staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service standards.
· Monitor sales performance and identify areas for improvement or opportunities for growth.
Inventory Management
· Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper stock levels are maintained at all times.
· Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to replenish inventory as needed.
· Conduct regular inventory audits to minimize shrinkage and loss.
· Monitor product trends and adjust inventory levels accordingly to meet customer demand.
Visual Merchandising
· Ensure the retail space is visually appealing and merchandise is displayed effectively to maximize sales.
· Implement and maintain visual merchandising standards as per company guidelines.
· Rotate and refresh displays regularly to highlight promotions and new arrivals.
Operational Duties
· Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
· Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy in transactions.
· Collaborate with the store manager to develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
· Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and reporting as needed.
Requirements
· Minimum a diploma in Retail Management and/or the equivalent of 3 years’ proven experience in a retail supervisory or management role.
· Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
· Strong customer service orientation with a passion for exceeding customer expectations.
· Solid understanding of retail operations, including sales techniques, inventory management, and visual merchandising.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
