Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) in School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) is looking for a part-time Senior Research Fellow with strong expertise and publication record in finite geometry and applications of algebraic number theory to combinatorics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Propose methods to tackle open problems concerning optimal configurations in finite geometry
- Carry out numerical studies to identify promising directions for constructions and nonexistence results for equiangular tight frames, in cooperation with PI and Co-PI
- Produce mathematical proofs for conjectures that arise from numerical studies
Job Requirements:
- PhD in mathematics
- Deep knowledge in finite geometry and application of algebraic number theory to combinatorial problem
- Existing publications in finite geometry
