We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scientist/ Senior Scientist to join our team, possessing deep domain knowledge in human digestion and comprehensive research background in human in vitro and in vivo digestion studies. The successful candidate will play a leading role in designing and executing digestion studies, interpreting data to advance our understanding of gastrointestinal physiology, then translating these knowledge to optimize nutritional strategies and food processing and ingredient development.
The candidate in this position will be expected to be involved in the following activities:
- Design and conduct in vitro digestion assays to simulate gastrointestinal conditions.
- Conduct in vivo digestion studies in humans, ensuring ethical and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and validate methodologies for assessing nutrient bioavailability and digestion kinetics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate digestion data into product development strategies.
- Analyze and interpret experimental results, providing insights and recommendations for digestion strategies.
- Stay abreast of advancements in digestion research and contribute to the scientific community through publications and presentations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Train and mentor junior scientists on experimental techniques and protocols.
- Write scientific grant proposals, maintain laboratory notebooks, prepare scientific reports.
- Supervise and train students and interns.
Qualifications
- Doctorate in Life Sciences, Nutrition, Food Science or equivalent.
- Proven expertise and track record in designing and conducting in vitro and in vivo digestion studies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for data interpretation and troubleshooting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex scientific concepts clearly.
- Experience with relevant analytical techniques, such as HPLC, mass spectrometry, or spectroscopy.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and ethical considerations in human biomedical research.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team, possess strong organizational and project management skills, demonstrate initiative and able to work independently.
